About the Role
This is a great opportunity to join Westcon-Comstor's newly formed and rapidly growing AWS business unit. We're building something unique in the cloud space. Westcon-Comstor has been a trusted name in technology distribution for nearly 40 years, and we're now making a significant push into the AWS ecosystem. We've invested heavily in our AWS capabilities across Europe through three major initiatives:
1. The acquisition of Rebura, an AWS Premier Services Partner with 12 AWS Competencies and over 90 AWS Certifications – the CEO of Rebura will be leading this whole unit.
2. The launch of a comprehensive AWS Marketplace program.
3. Securing AWS Cloud distribution rights across Europe.
As an approved AWS Distributor, we enable our partners to resell AWS products and solutions, while providing comprehensive support to accelerate their AWS success. This includes helping partners develop their AWS go-to-market strategy, access AWS funding programs, and build technical expertise through enablement.
You'll be part of a business unit that combines the stability and resources of an established global company with the energy and innovation of a cloud-first organisation. Our recent acquisition of Rebura brings additional AWS expertise and creates exciting opportunities for collaboration and growth.
We're looking for individuals who are passionate about cloud technology and want to be part of building something significant in the AWS ecosystem, helping our partners succeed in their AWS journey.
This position will own the technical engagement with Westcon-Comstor's strategic AWS partners. You will work with partners to increase their customer base by providing pre-sales support while also supporting their wider business goals, building out their AWS line of business.
You will act as our partners' strategic advisor, with broad technical knowledge in architecture, infrastructure, DevOps, and data. You will interact with our partners and drive adoption of AWS services.
As the regional AWS subject matter expert, you will be both customer- and partner-facing and regularly interact with key stakeholders at all business levels.
The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of AWS, the channel ecosystem, and the ability to effectively sell utilizing a two-tier model. This involves engaging efficiently with AWS personnel, partners, and Westcon-Comstor partner account managers.
This full-time permanent role is based at our Bracknell office with some occasional travel to our partners, including AWS and Rebura offices in London. We offer great benefits like BUPA private healthcare, 25 days holidays...
Your Key Responsibilities
Essential Functions of the Role:
1. Pre-Sales: Responsible for running pre-sales activities in conjunction with our partners.
2. Education & Development: Working with our partners to educate & grow their teams.
3. Technical Design: Ensuring successful proposal & delivery by leading in-depth architectural design exercises (not necessarily hands-on).
4. Partner Enablement: Planning which competencies to achieve, designing a team, or enabling the sales teams GTM, you will work closely with the PDM to grow the partners' AWS business.
AWS
1. Align and build strong relationships with the in-country AWS Partner Development Managers (PDM).
2. Understand the AWS Co-Sell ecosystem, funding programmes, org & GTM.
3. Drive co-sell programs with AWS.
Qualifications / Requirements
Ideally, you will have:
1. Good knowledge of AWS Cloud.
2. Thorough understanding of AWS Co-Sell ecosystem, funding programmes, org & GTM.
3. Finance: Understanding of and ability to apply pricing, Gross Profit, discounts, and margin calculations.
4. Sales: Good understanding of the sales cycle.
5. Customer Service: Principles and processes for providing customer service.
6. Qualifications: Ideally, you have AWS accreditations or demonstrable experience with relevant technology.
7. Technical background and experience with technology.
8. University degree (preferably IT, business, or management).
