Our factory in Coventry is one of our biggest snacks manufacturing sites in the UK, and home of Doritos! It is a multi-technology plant with significant automation and is home to around 650 team members. Responsibilities
What you'll get up to
1. Develop and execute annual safety strategy and targets for the site. Collaborate with Operations Managers and Senior Management to ensure effective delivery of the EHS plan and foster a sustainable EHS-focused culture.
2. Manage the site HSE management system to ensure compliance with PepsiCo Global standards, including audits and Standard Owner capability. Implement and sustain PepsiCo’s global environmental, health, and safety standards and technical safety standards according to system requirements.
3. Support and coach functional teams (Operations & Engineering) to ensure compliance with legislation and reinforce site standards.
4. Play a critical role in change management projects to ensure safety during all changes and include risk reduction in project plans.
5. Promote a safety culture through effective communication and continuous improvement. Lead by example, coaching and developing teams across departments and shifts.
6. Manage the site EHS team and oversee the development of EHS competence. Deliver relevant training on behavioral safety, risk assessment, and environmental procedures.
7. Support UK Health and Safety and Environmental team meetings by creating policies and devising tactical steps to meet UK targets.
Qualifications
What we're looking for
1. Recognised safety qualification – ideally IOSH/NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (additional environmental experience advantageous)
2. Knowledge of legal requirements and standards such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001
3. Self-starter with the ability to identify and communicate value-added opportunities to peers and management
4. Experienced people leader with influencing, motivating, and coaching skills
5. Excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels
6. Strategic thinker capable of translating plans into practical results
7. Effective coach who listens and adapts communication style for best outcomes
8. Results-driven with the ability to prioritize and deliver safety and environmental goals creatively
9. Strong communicator who simplifies terminology for operational teams
