Role: Solicitor or Equivalent (Clinical Negligence Grade C - Southport)
Location: Southport/ Hybrid
As a Grade C Solicitor in our Clinical Negligence team, you will play a crucial role in supporting Lawyers and Senior Lawyers in the management of a diverse caseload of clinical negligence cases, from inception through to trial. Working under supervision and in accordance with company policies and legal standards, you will take on delegated tasks and assist in settling cases, contributing to the team's overall success. Additionally, you will mentor and coach more junior team members, helping to develop their skills and knowledge. If successful, you will join a large, busy team of clinical negligence experts, working on all aspects of litigation, both pre- and post-litigation, in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Main Responsibilities for the role:
Accountable for:
1. Running an individual caseload
2. Providing support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to clients
3. Contributing to proactive and commercial case management and progression across the team
4. Supporting the Team Leader/Head of Department in ensuring the delivery of the team's financial and performance KPIs
5. Effective and thorough time recording
Responsible for:
1. Discussing and agreeing case tactics and planning with the Team Leader/Head of Department and members of the team
2. Identifying and driving cases which are ready for LOC, settlement, and service within the team
3. Working with the team to ensure that relevant information is being collected and collated to enable the progression of the case
4. Management of a caseload in a proactive commercial manner
5. Co-ordinating the progression of cases with all internal and external parties
6. Drafting of legal documentation including LOC, letters of instruction
7. Negotiating settlement and the issuing and service of proceedings should it be required
8. Litigation of claims as required
9. Overseeing the documentation and correspondence produced by the team
10. Advising the team on any technical issues arising from their cases with support from Team Leader/Head of Department.
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Recent experience of handling a caseload
2. NQ- 5 years PQE or equivalent experience working in Clinical Negligence
3. Excellent organisational and time management skills
4. Excellent communication and drafting skills
5. Excellent IT skills especially in respect of Microsoft Office packages, Proclaim and Excel
6. Excellent attention to detail
7. Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment
8. Ability to work well with junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring
9. Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines.
10. Excellent Client Care Skills
