The appointment is for a full-time Rheumatology Pathway Coordinator in Rheumatology. Applications are invited from Full time, Part time and Job Share applicants. If a person is appointed as a part-time or job share position modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the trust in consultation with the wider team. The post holder will work with a number of teams within the Trust:
* Multidisciplinary teams
* Consultants and their team
* Nursing Staff
* Outpatient teams
* Management team
* GP Practices
* Homecare companies
* Other hospitals both in and out of the district
Main duties of the job
* Manage the pathway for patients on biologics and other high cost drugs.
* Maintain and further develop the biologics drug database, ensuring all information is accurate and comprehensive for existing patients and creating electronic records for newly diagnosed/approved patients.
* Draft, submit, and monitor all funding requests to the CCG via the Blueteq funding IT system, ensuring accuracy to support smooth financial processes.
* Coordinate prescription requests from the Homecare companies.
* Maintain a good working knowledge of BlueTeq/DAWN and be able to enter, review, and update information as required.
* Create and manage all electronic documentation, ensuring information is comprehensive, up-to-date, and accurate.
* Participate in and identify ways to develop the biologics high cost drugs service.
* Manage the Early Inflammatory Arthritis pathway, ensuring patients have new and follow-up appointments scheduled appropriately.
* Contribute to the National Early Inflammatory Arthritis Audit as required.

Job responsibilities
Main responsibilities
* Update the on-call rota and staffing rota for all grades of medical staff within Planned Care Surgery daily.
* Manage Healthroster implementation within all services and be responsible for day-to-day rota management.
* Mitigate any impact to the service from staff absences and escalate when there are insufficient staff to cover the service.
* Establish and maintain comprehensive monitoring systems for clinical staff's annual leave, sickness absence, study leave, and mandatory training.
* Produce monthly reports for locum bookings for finance and additional payments for additional sessions.
* Manage locum bookings and payroll for bank staff, supporting the service manager in performance management.
* Coordinate induction for new starters and trainees, including junior doctors.
* Plan and take accurate minutes at departmental and project group meetings.
* Handle telephone calls to the service, ensuring effective and sensitive communication.
* Liaise with clinical administrative teams to adjust clinical activity according to medical staffing levels.
* Develop and distribute rotas for staff within the division as required.
* Maintain appropriate filing systems and ensure document availability.
* Work with the Manager to ensure optimal operational performance and efficient systems.
* Oversee clinic reconciliation and liaise with clinical teams to ensure timely updates.
* Engage with performance statistics, targets, and priorities.
* Identify and implement quality improvement actions in collaboration with the Divisional management team.
* Assist with preliminary investigations of complaints as delegated.
* Seek out best practice examples for service improvement.
* Ensure high standards of patient care are consistently applied.
Performance Management
* Support the Assistant Service Manager or Service Manager in ensuring effective processes to monitor performance.
* Ensure all relevant datasets are accurate and submitted on time.
* Escalate concerns to the Assistant Service Manager or Service Manager and meet with stakeholders to discuss actions.
* Work closely with administrative PODs to manage leave requests.
Communication
* Ensure all communication is responsive and inclusive, focusing on improvement.
* Present communication appropriately to different recipients, considering barriers such as language and understanding.
General

* Educated to A-level or equivalent healthcare experience.
