Not your average role….
You will utilise your skills to develop timetable options several years in advance, in collaboration with rail industry colleagues, to help deliver a market-led timetable approach. This challenging but rewarding role requires you to produce and refine plans to offer an attractive, competitive and high performing product, effectively forecast required resources and remain compliant with industry frameworks. The role will help shape future ScotRail timetable and resource plans and is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues across Scotland’s Railway.
What you bring
This specialist role requires a tenacious individual that can find solutions to difficult problems by using excellent analytical skills and demonstrating initiative. It is also essential to be resilient to change in an environment that may require the development of various iterations of a range of options to be planned.
You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the forces that impact the development of timetables, from resource capability to governance and capacity and constraints of the rail network.
An ability to competently use bespoke software packages for planning and modelling plans is essential.
A person with a railway planning background and a strong geographical knowledge of the Scottish rail network may be suited to this role.
Hours of work: 35 hours per week. Reference salary: £40,346 per annum.

Selection process:
Selected candidates will be invited to a competency-based interview. If successful, the next stage will be a medical examination. Appointees must submit at least two satisfactory references, Disclosure Scotland clearance and complete a six-month probation period.
