The Vacancy
The Alcohol & Drug Service (ADS) is a registered charity that has been transforming the lives of people affected by drugs and alcohol misuse for over 40 years.
Aspire is a partnership between ADS and Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH). It combines the strengths of both NHS provision under the leadership of a consultant and the strengths of the voluntary sector provided by ADS. This partnership has worked together for over 20 years, providing Drug and Alcohol Services to our local communities. It is a forward-thinking and innovative partnership that works closely with the recovery communities it serves to provide flexible, responsive services which offer the best possible outcomes for its service users.
The criminal justice team works with individuals involved in the judicial system, supporting them to lead meaningful lives. This team collaborates closely with the courts, probation, and prisons to support and steer people away from a life of crime and offending, often underpinned by addiction issues.
If you have relevant experience in the substance misuse field and a level 3 Tackling Substance Misuse or equivalent, we would like to hear from you.
We provide a comprehensive package of accredited courses, and for newly qualified Social Workers, we support the ASYE programme.

* Health Scheme
* Training opportunities in line with the personalised learning and development plan
* Joining ADS at a time of exciting and fast-growing change
Working at ADS is more than a job; it’s an investment of time to make a difference in the lives of people with substance misuse issues and their families.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
The ADS is an equal opportunity employer, committed to diversity. We promote the fair and equal treatment of potential and existing employees and service users.
About ADS
For over 30 years, we have delivered effective interventions in towns and cities. We’ve helped thousands of local people on the road to recovery across Humberside, Lincolnshire, and Yorkshire, supporting the national strategy on a local basis.
The Alcohol & Drug Service is a charity (Registered Charity 1108595; Company Limited by Guarantee, Company No. 05375809). The majority of our funding comes through contracts with statutory commissioners such as Local Authorities and the NHS, but we also receive valuable income from charitable grants and individual fundraising efforts that support many of our most innovative services. We are governed by a Board of Trustees.
We ensure that the organisation is run well and we are a part of the Investors in People scheme, a quality framework which is independently audited. We currently hold the Silver award.
Our Values
We believe that honesty underpins all that we do. We seek to improve our services and to identify lessons, we must be honest with ourselves regarding our performance.
We believe that trust is the foundation of an effective partnership approach and that partnership is the defining characteristic of our relationship with service users, employees, and those who purchase services from us.
