A large UK cable supplier is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to manage staff, company equipment and stock. The Warehouse Supervisor will have excellent leadership and managerial experience and skills. In addition, the Warehouse Supervisor will have ideally worked in the logistics or warehouse sector, but it is essential to also have health and safety knowledge, and good communication, time management, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Ensure staff safety by maintaining procedures as laid down in H&S policy
Progress staff training to ensure that minimal errors occur within the workplace
Ensure orders being prepared correctly and ready for despatch including collections, O/N and prioritised loads making sure they are in the correct loading bay
Ensure tidiness in Warehouse particularly in relation to fire precaution procedures
Ensure daily checks are made on all electrical equipment
Ensure weekly checks and reports made on maintenance of forklift trucks are submitted. Ensure that any damage to racking, equipment etc. is rectified or reported.
Compile reports on staff progress, training and time keeping
Contact superiors when problems arise with forklift trucks to ensure corrective repairs carried out
Notify relevant personnel when stock needs relocating and within designated stock locations
Responsible for ensuring that preferred methods of handling are adopted and will inform colleagues of any instance when this may not apply
Responsible for ensuring that the Operating Procedure is actioned with respect to defect labels and to advise colleagues of damage to stock or drums
To perform other duties, deemed to be in accordance with position held, as required by General Manager
Observe and perform operating procedures advise colleagues if procedures not operating correctly or need updating
Ensure Stock takes carried out on all goods at regular intervals set to you buy the Management Team
Responsible for ensuring that all errors are addressed and recorded whilst ensuring that informal procedures are carried out
Ensure work levels are to expectation regarding cuts per person

Desirable:
Warehousing experience
Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 DOE
