Job Title: Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician
Location: Standish Site
Hours of Work: Monday – Friday (8am – 4.30pm)
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician to join our client based in Standish initially on a contract basis with the possibility to move on to a permanent staff role. Pay rate will be £20.19 per hour plus OT pay. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, continuous operation of our plant by swiftly addressing equipment failures and implementing an effective preventative maintenance program.
This position requires a proactive individual with a practical, hands-on approach who thrives in a dynamic environment. You will also provide support to the Lamberhead manufacturing site in Pemberton as needed.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver comprehensive mechanical and electrical maintenance services for the company’s process plant and designated areas.
2. Maintain and repair equipment such as steam boilers, pumps, gearboxes, agitators, and other plant machinery.
3. Install and maintain chemical plant equipment, valves, and pressure relief valves under management of change.
4. Perform general building and electrical maintenance repairs.
5. Address unplanned equipment breakdowns promptly and safely.
6. Accurately complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner.
7. Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to ensure efficient scheduling of shutdowns and adherence to safe working procedures.
8. Immediately report any incidents or safety concerns using appropriate reporting systems.
9. Execute corrective and preventive actions as required.
10. Take on additional duties as directed by the Directors.
What We Are Looking For
Essential Skills/Experience:
1. Practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
2. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
3. Willingness to comply with safety and quality regulations, including wearing and maintaining PPE.
4. Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
5. Expertise in troubleshooting, fault finding, planned preventative maintenance, and reactive maintenance.
6. Experience with electrical infrastructure systems (single and three-phase).
Desirable Skills/Experience:
1. Experience working in an ATEX chemical/process industry or on a COMAH site.
2. Knowledge of chemical processes.
3. Instrumentation experience.
Qualifications
Essential:
1. Electrical Qualification.
2. Apprenticeship Qualified.
3. Experience in a similar role.
4. ONC or equivalent in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (C&G L3, etc.).
Desirable:
1. IOSH Managing Safely.
2. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (C&G 2382).
3. Test and Inspect 2391.
4. CompEx Certification (EX01-04).
5. Coded Welding.
