Job Title: Train Driver (x2 posts) Seasonal - March to September
Contract Type: Seasonal
Hours:
1 post 30 hours per week during school holidays, 7.5 hours per week term time (Saturday or Sunday)
1 post 22 hours per week during school holidays, 7.5 hours per week term time (Saturday or Sunday)
Location of post: Margam Country Park SA13 2TJ
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within one of Neath Port Talbots leading tourist attractions. Margam Park has recently been voted within the top ten most popular parks and green spaces in Britain.
The post holder will be required to drive a diesel powered locomotive on the Margam Park Narrow Gauge Railway and be vigilant to ensure passenger safety.
Required to check locomotive, carriages and track before at the start of the day, to complete the Operator’s daily log and be responsible for the train’s cleanliness and condition.
Due to the requirements of driving a passenger carrying train, it is necessary to be over 21 years of age and a Driving Licence. Formal operator training will be provided.
The successful candidate will also be required to work within others areas of the park as required, and be expected to provide a high level of customer care to visitors.
Candidate must have a flexible approach to work as this post requires unsocial working hours to include weekends and bank holidays. The rotated hours can change to accommodate the service needs of the park.
Uniform will be provided in keeping with the theme of the train.
