We have a great opportunity for a Female Support Worker* to work with a young lady with learning disabilities based in the Holsworthy area of Devon seeking a kind, caring, fun and patient support worker.
To support the client to go bowling, to visit her boyfriend, to eat out, help make new friends locally, to go shopping, to the cinema and swimming as well as supporting her to be independent with everyday activities and practice bus travel. The client loves cocktails, pink and music.
The client has mobility needs and can only walk short distances - she uses a wheelchair for longer distances. She also needs support with some personal care tasks.

What you will be working:
16 hours per week over two days starting with 8 hours and increasing to 16 as rapport is built
£12.50 per hour
Travel time is paid up to 1 hour
What you will have:
Essential:
* An NVQ (or equivalent) in care and recent training would be an advantage.
* You will have some experience of caring for people with physical and/or learning disabilities.
* You will have a positive interest in active rehabilitation and a desire to enable this person to reach her full potential.
* You will be female (Due to the occupational nature of the role. This post is compliant with Paragraph 1, Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 relating to Occupational Requirements.)
* You will be a driver with a full UK driving licence and be confident to drive the client's car.
* You are a person with great communication skills especially with the client, her family and other professionals involved.
* You will have a DBS on the update service or will complete an enhanced DBS if successful. Initial DBS check paid for by us.
Desirable:
* Current training in the following areas: Equality, diversity and inclusion, Health and safety at work, Control of substances hazardous to health, Fire safety awareness, Infection control, Food hygiene, Manual handling, First aid / basic life support including CPR, Safeguarding vulnerable adults, Safeguarding vulnerable children, Conflict management and Lone working.
