We’re looking for a freelance producer to support us on the Political Currency with Ed Balls and George Osborne podcast, and for other current affairs shows currently in development.
Requirements:
1. At least 3 years demonstrable experience producing successful news and current affairs programmes - whether radio news programmes or podcasts or documentaries. This does not include work experience or work undertaken whilst studying.
2. Advanced audio editing skills including mixing and mastering. Familiarity with Adobe Audition is essential. You will be asked to produce and edit audio that’s ready for publication without the support of a sound engineer.
3. We’re looking for a journalist who has a strong interest in politics, the economy and how the world works. You will have a passion for news and current affairs and have a keen eye for engaging and important stories, told with rigour.
4. Sound editorial judgment and a strong knowledge of media law.
5. Experience of working with high profile talent and big name guests.
6. The ability to run recording sessions in a studio or remotely, using recording equipment and software such as Riverside, and experience recording audio on location.
7. A flair for creating viral social media moments and writing fun and engaging copy. Video editing skills are preferable.
8. This is a fast-paced show. You will be a highly-organised team player, and a great communicator with the ability to manage tight deadlines. Political Currency is recorded and published on the same day.
Rate: £260-300 per day, depending on experience and skills.
Location: The podcast is recorded either at our studios in Shoreditch, East London on Thursdays. You will be working remotely on other days.
