Pay: $27.85/hr
Shift: Training will be done on 1st shift and then the role will transition to 2nd or 3rd shift; must be able to work weekends and overtime.
Summary:
We are looking for an Industrial Mechanic with excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. WestRock is #183 on the Fortune 500 companies list. The Aston plant is a Corrugated Box plant with a Corrugator, two Rotary Die Cutters, three Flexo Folder Gluers, and various ancillary support equipment.
The Job You Will Perform:
1. Perform tasks as outlined in the preventative maintenance program for all production machinery.
2. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures identified by production operators on daily operating equipment including production machinery, conveyor systems, and facility systems.
3. Safely fill propane tanks for use on fork trucks.
4. Assist electricians on shift as necessary and various other duties assigned.
Education/Experience:
Prefer One (1) year vocational/technical education in a Mechanic/Maintenance discipline -or- 2-5 years’ experience as a Mechanic/Maintenance Technician in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment.
Requirements:
1. Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
2. Knowledge of lubrication, hydraulics, steam, and pneumatic principles.
3. Demonstrate the understanding of a Predictive Maintenance Program and how it ties into everyday inspections and job planning.
4. Read and comprehend parts manuals to then request, track, and inventory parts/components as required to schedule future repairs.
5. Ability to learn various pieces of machinery and understand theory of operations as well as calibration procedures, inspections, electrical, and preventative maintenance requirements.
6. Self-motivated, able to follow through to completion with assigned responsibilities.
7. Required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License, scissor lift, and boom.
8. Performing preventive maintenance activities such as lubricating, measuring wear, measuring positions, repositioning components; and observing operations, vibrations, and noise levels.
9. Regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
