Salary: £36,072 - £39,412 per year / £19.77 - £21.60 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

Kirkwall Grammar School and Stromness Academy are seeking skilled and experienced Counsellors to support their School Counselling Service.
The service offers a universal counselling provision for all children and young people aged 10 and over, established in line with Good Practice Guidance for Counselling in Schools by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. The service primarily supports secondary-aged students and is expanding while maintaining core principles.
In the Orkney context, it is essential to provide counselling both face-to-face and via video communication. Counsellors are expected to undertake or commit to additional training to support online delivery.
Requirements:
* Practitioner Qualification in Counselling (minimum SCQF 8)
* Full registration on an appropriate PSA-approved register (e.g., BACP, PTUK, COSCA, BAPT)
* Qualified to deliver online counselling
Travel between various locations within Orkney should be efficient and effective to meet operational needs.
This post requires membership of the PVG Scheme for regulated work with children.
