Zen Educate are looking for a Assistant Year Leader for a School Based in the Sheffield area.
Purpose of the post:
To be accountable for the effective implementation, monitoring and evaluation of
behaviour and pastoral intervention strategies aimed at improving students’
engagement in learning as directed by the year leader
To support the Year Leader in promoting and monitoring the spiritual, moral,
cultural, mental/ psychological and personal development of students within the
year group.
To carry out key tasks as directed by the Year leader to support inclusion and
behaviour strategies.
To work with the Designated Teacher for Looked After Children and the SENDCo
to monitor and support progress
To co-ordinate and support LAC
To be part of the team working with students at risk of CSE
To co-ordinate and support children who are young carers
To work closely with the school counsellors and arrange appointments for
students they see on a weekly basis
To support safeguarding for all students as deputy safeguard lead.
Key Tasks to Achieve Outcomes:
To be a visible presence across the school to monitor and support a positive
climate of behaviour and attitudes across the year group.
To contribute to and uphold the Catholic ethos and aims of the school
To complete the tasks of a deputy safeguarding lead by responding appropriately
to safeguarding disclosures.
To complete child protection referrals, document all concerns and pass minutes
to all relevant staff including emergency situations during the school day
To attend meetings with external agencies and contribute to reports as required
To liaise with outside agencies regarding potential or actual instances of CSE
To liaise with outside agencies and to have contact with young people's families
or those with parental responsibilities.
Respond to and take steps to resolve student related issues involving critical
incidents and unsatisfactory learning behaviour
