Devonshire Road Primary School is a friendly and welcoming two-form entry primary school. Within our diverse setting, we aim to help all children achieve and rise to challenges; we want them to learn and grow with pride and confidence. Our most recent Ofsted was in October 2022 and we were judged as a good school who offers outstanding personal development. We have an excellent reputation and we are very proud of all we achieve at Devonshire Road.
We are looking to appoint an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant who is positive, loves working with primary age children, and wants to ‘bring out the best’ in everyone. You must be a team player who is willing to go the extra mile and be fully involved in the life of our school.
You will be working in Key Stage 2 initially, in class, with groups, and with individuals as required. Your hours will include an hour working over the lunchtime period supervising children in the dining hall and on the yard.
At Devonshire Road Primary, children make excellent progress, including a high percentage of children who have additional or high needs. We are looking for an experienced teaching assistant who can support all of our children to thrive emotionally, socially, and academically in our setting. Applicants should be friendly and adaptable individuals with attitudes and values which will enhance our staff team. We want an experienced professional who is willing to adapt and respond to each child’s needs; someone who is resilient in the face of a challenge and who is interested in supporting others in their team to develop high professional standards.
Our children have asked for a teaching assistant who:
1. Is kind, helpful, and will care for them
2. Is curious and excited to learn
3. Is hardworking and organised (honestly, that was what they said!)
4. Is strict but cares about us
5. Recognises that they are all wonderful
6. Is respectful of everyone in and around our school
7. Is happy and positive and can be funny
8. “Makes us be the best we can be”
Our staff want a colleague who:
1. Is a team player; someone who is friendly, approachable, and gets stuck in
2. Is dedicated to getting the best for our Devonshire Road children and is resilient when facing a challenge
3. Is interested in finding out how individual children learn and is sensitive to all needs
4. Is enthusiastic and fun whilst being very professional
5. Is upbeat and positive with a good sense of humour
