Our Public Sector Client is looking for a Net Zero Finance Innovation Manager to join their team on an initial 15 month contract basis.
The outcome of the project work is to develop and test the evidence base for a new ‘Net Zero Asset’ or equivalent model, with investors, and apply this to a real-life case study to attract funding into a place for net zero delivery.
Qualifications Required
1. Degree (BSc, MA, MSc, MBA) or professional qualification in financial modelling, economics and accounting, or equivalent experience
2. Qualified Accountant with (CIMA / ACCA) or studying ACCA/ACA and at finalist level.
Knowledge
Financial
1. Detailed technical understanding of financing and investment models, including process to develop and establish new models, particularly those applicable to the financing of new project portfolios
2. Thorough understanding of different sources of financing, and their application to environmental or social projects.
3. Understanding of financial risk, and approaches to managing this risk.
4. Able to model and analyse complex financial propositions to inform options for discussion with investors and all stakeholders.
5. Industry knowledge of key individuals and businesses working in the financial and investment sector.
Governance
1. Extensive knowledge of project and organisational governance to ensure robust decision making.
2. Local, regional and national political and economic context impacting on net zero delivery.
3. Knowledge of the role that public institutions play in supporting innovation and economic growth.
4. You may also have an interest in particular topic areas, net zero finance; green economy; environmental economics, health economics as well as scientific and technological developments.
Procurement
1. Knowledge and experience of public sector procurement and commissioning.
Experience
1. Investment and finance management Investment strategies and fund management for clients.
2. Developed technical, professional and legislative knowledge and understanding of national policies, statutory requirements, relevant frameworks and accountabilities in relation to finance and investment – including inward investment, innovation policy and delivery, strategic account management as well as familiarity with external funding streams to support such activity.
3. Development of new economic models and establishment of their underpinning assumptions related to types of investment asset and risk profiles into an investment opportunity.
Project & Grant Management
1. Experience of project management and delivery of projects.
2. Experience of government grant funding regimes and delivery of project to external grant requirements.
3. Proven experience in leading and managing multidisciplinary and business development stakeholders.
4. Experience of budgetary controls and appropriate interventions and procedures for managing finances.
