Our client a leading consultancy now have an exciting opportunity for a Managing Consultant to work within their climate and Net Zero team.
Your key responsibility will be Business Development for NetZero, as well as being responsible for an internal team, leading by example, inspiring people and developing them to be the best they can be.
As a Subject Matter Expert in the field of climate change and sustainability, you will also lead, develop, and maximise the contract and consultancy experience for clients.
You will take the position of Leader and Solution Oversight on client projects, supervising and managing consultants, senior and assistant consultants to achieve success for our clients. Further seeking and acting on business opportunities to support the organisation’s growth and strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development
– Active leadership and involvement in identifying opportunities
– Active leadership and involvement in developing and delivering business growth
– Active leadership and involvement in bid writing, development and responding to tenders
– Active involvement and leadership in engaging with clients, potential clients and partners
– Active involvement in promoting the business through our social media posts (e.g. LinkedIn)
– Develop and present case studies/lessons learnt of current projects and present to clients.
– Contact sub-contractors and client contacts on their projects for further opportunities
– Wholly responsible for account management and/or a large client account, reporting to the relevant SLT member.
Internal Responsibilities
– Ability to interface with senior staff, clients and stakeholders
– Support the Leadership Team with business initiatives
– Undertake business development activities and provide effective client interaction
– Assist in bids and obtaining new work
– Represent the company at conferences, client dinners, corporate events and exhibitions
– Manage and supervise technical resources and staff
– Team Management – Leading a strategic direction, responsible for implementing strategy
– Assist in the utilisation levels of service stream consultants
– Line Management of staff, time, workloads, objectives for team and self (Utilisation etc)

You will be delivering business development success for the organisation and consultancy support to clients around portfolio, programme and project planning and controls. The below responsibilities are not exhaustive, it is a list of chosen responsibilities which you will need to demonstrate:
* Consultancy experience
* Experience in defining, managing and delivering complex projects, programmes and portfolios.
* Recent experience of working within the Ministry of Defence, Nuclear, Public Sector, IT or Infrastructure programmes.
* Understand the classification and protection of classified information.
* Programme / Portfolio office organisation.
* Leadership of Programme assurance reviews on projects of increasing size and complexity and in the delivery of major business and change management solutions.
* Conversant with continuous improvement and benchmarking methodologies.
* Expertise in multiple planning management and control disciplines.
* Fully conversant with risk and opportunity management including associated methodologies.
* Implementation of benefits management, quality management, and blueprint design and delivery principles.
* Ability to work on own initiative and a ‘Can-Do’ attitude.
* Demonstrable effective communication, negotiation and influencing skills.

* The suitable candidate already holds or will be expected to achieve Security Clearance.
