Downlands is a forward-thinking school based on an Army Camp with predominately forces children. We are looking to appoint two Classroom Teaching Assistants to work with KS1 & KS2 children. This is for 30.25 hours per week between 8.30am – 3.15pm, Monday to Friday term time only. Grade 3 SCP 3-4 £22,737 - £23,114 FTE (pay award pending) The successful candidate must be flexible and be willing to positively contribute to the life and energy of our school community. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, creative and with a positive ‘can-do’ way of thinking. The role will involve classroom, small group or individual support under the guidance of the class teacher and other senior staff. Experience in working with children with additional needs would be advantageous. Keeping Children Safe in Education The school will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
