Job Description
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Learning Assistant – Pupil Equity Funding position commencing in August 2025 up until August 2026. This post is to assist the school in raising attainment through providing nurture working 27.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year in St Andrews RC Primary School.
The successful candidate for this post will be expected to support pupils with a range of additional support needs, including learning needs, medical diagnosis, and social and emotional needs. You will follow the duties as outlined within the job description.
The successful candidates must be educated to SCQF Level 4 (e.g. Standard Grade General, National 4) or equivalent, including Numeracy and Literacy or equivalent and experience of working with children and/or young people. A willingness to undertake training will be required. Experience of working with children/young people with additional support needs.
This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post on a secondment.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
