The Role
We are looking for a hands-on and highly skilled Engineering Supervisor to oversee maintenance activities, ensuring all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems function efficiently. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer and Director of Engineering, managing preventive maintenance programs, supervising contractors, and mentoring junior engineers. This is a critical role in maintaining our high standards and ensuring a safe, well-functioning environment for members and guests.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee planned and preventative maintenance across the Club and hotel suites, minimizing downtime of critical systems (HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, lifts, electrical units).
* Diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues, ensuring quick and effective solutions.
* Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company maintenance standards.
* Supervise and support a small team of engineers, providing guidance and recommending further training.
* Manage sub-contractors on-site, ensuring risk assessments (RAMS) and safe working practices are followed.
* Work closely with other departments, especially Housekeeping and Events, to coordinate maintenance schedules with minimal disruption.
* Monitor heating and lighting systems, identifying opportunities for energy efficiency.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, costs, and stock levels.
What Were Looking For
* Relevant qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (e.g., City & Guilds 236 Parts 1 & 2, 18th Edition, or equivalent).
* Proven experience in a hospitality or luxury environment.
* Multi-skilled expertise across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, and general building maintenance.
* Strong knowledge of fire safety systems (e.g., ANSUL, VESDA).
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently while leading and mentoring a team.
* High professional standards, ensuring all work is completed efficiently and safely.
