Position: CNC Turner Operator - Permanent Nights Location: Chesterfield Salary: Up to £20ph Shifts: Permanent Nights Monday-Wednesday 17:30-06:00 Thursday 17:30-03:00 (option to work overtime until 06:00 at 1.3x overtime rate) Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled CNC Turner Operator to set and operate CNC machinery. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to produce high quality products that confirm to customer expectations. Responsibilities: Set and operate CNC turning machines using FANUC controls. Collaborate with operators and inspectors to standardise inspection methods. Operate multiple machines in sequence and measure parts using micrometers. Work in a manufacturing environment, meeting production targets while checking for defects and quality issues. Maintain shop floor controls and measuring equipment. Ensure a safe working environment and suggest improvements to the direct manager. Communicate and reinforce the company's commitment to quality improvement efforts. Comply with H&S legal requirements, policies, and procedures at all times. Work within the ISO9001 quality management system and meet customer-specific requirements. Requirements: NVQ Level 3 in Engineering and/or equivalent or a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role (desirable). GCSE A-D in English and Math or equivalent (desirable). Experienced CNC setter/operator with knowledge of FANUC controls. Previous experience with milling or turning machines. Competent in working with various materials, including stainless steels, Inconel, and other alloys. Experience in a precision environment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Logical and methodical thinking. Ability to work independently and proactively. Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will have previous experience working on CNC machinery, preferably in a subcontract manufacturing environment.
