Mechanical and Plumbing Services Operative Role
Huddersfield is the base for this position.
We are seeking an experienced tradesperson to join our small but busy directly employed Maintenance Services Team, delivering a high-quality service to support our primary objectives of providing excellent customer service and ensuring the upkeep of our properties.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of mechanical and plumbing tasks, including maintenance, repairs, and installations. This will involve working at height, in confined spaces, and with a range of materials and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carrying out routine maintenance tasks on a variety of mechanical systems, including boilers, pumps, and valves.
* Repairing and replacing faulty or worn-out parts, using manual skills and experience to diagnose and resolve issues.
* Installing new equipment and fixtures, ensuring they meet safety standards and regulations.
* Working safely at height, in confined spaces, and with hazardous materials.
* Maintaining accurate records of work completed, including time sheets, materials used, and any defects or issues encountered.
Requirements:
* A strong background in mechanical and plumbing services, gained through formal education and/or extensive practical experience.
* Excellent technical knowledge and skills, particularly in relation to boiler maintenance and repair.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, communicating effectively with colleagues and clients.
* Physical stamina to perform tasks that require lifting, bending, and working at height.
* Possession of a valid, industry-recognized qualification (e.g., City & Guilds Diploma in Plumbing) and relevant certification (e.g., Gas Safe Register).
Salary Information:
This role comes with a competitive salary, ranging from £31,666 to £38,342 per annum, plus a 12.5% shift allowance. The working hours are 37 per week, and the position is permanent.
