Permanent, Part Time/job share, working 16 hours per week working in the Henbury, Southmead, Horfield and Lockleaze libraries team. You will work the following pattern:
Week 1: Wednesday all day/evening, Thursday all day
Week 2: Wednesday all day/evening, Saturday all day
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to take their first steps in a supervisory role as a library supervisor for the Library Service. Bristol Libraries is a dynamic service with opening hours across all seven days of the week. The library services runs 27 libraries, and you will be responsible for supervising a team of library assistants working across 2 to 3 branch libraries.
We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic person, who enjoys working with the public and who has excellent communication and ICT skills, and a strong commitment to customer care.
Key duties are:
1. Supervising the day-to-day running of the libraries to ensure the highest level of customer service.
2. Assist the public to gain maximum benefit from the libraries and their facilities.
3. Respond to requests and enquiries or complaints from the public and communities as appropriate.
4. Motivate the team and manage their performance to ensure delivery of Library Service objectives.
5. Carry out administrative duties, including cash handling, banking, and maintaining financial and human resource records as required.
6. Develop, maintain and promote library stock to ensure it meets the highest standard of quality and increase usage.
