Job overview
We are developing our Older Adult offer within Shropshire, Telford, and Wrekin and are looking for someone to lead on the mobilisation of this.
This is an exciting development opportunity for someone with experience in a management/leadership role who is looking to expand their experience in strategic and operational leadership.
This specialist post requires a good understanding of the service's business and a commitment to delivering at a senior management level.
A good understanding of older adult needs and the work taking place around neighbourhood health approaches for this population is essential.
Please note: this is a fixed term post for 9 months initially.

Main duties of the job
• Lead on the delivery of the mobilisation of the care groups older adult development and expansion programme.
• Provide operational leadership across Community Older Adult Services, supporting day-to-day operations to ensure coordinated and consistent service delivery.
• Develop and maintain key relationships with system partners, wider community, and inpatient teams to support multi-disciplinary and agency models for seamless pathways and care closer to home.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post-holder will work with the Senior Leadership team to plan and oversee the mobilisation and implementation of Older Adult Services and Pathway Developments, ensuring that all service provision is coordinated, evidence-based, and effective.
The post-holder will lead ongoing delivery, providing strategic and operational oversight for these services.
The post-holder will promote the service and manage positive multi-agency relations, particularly with key stakeholders.
The post-holder will ensure compliance with clinical and operational standards and contractual requirements and establish regular reporting links with the ICB and required Trust Networks.
The post-holder is responsible for overall service standards (quality, safety, service user satisfaction, and meaningful involvement) and effective joint clinical governance in conjunction with the Quality and Governance Lead.
The post-holder will implement relevant service strategies that promote engagement and access for seldom heard and harder to reach communities, including minority ethnic, cultural and faith communities, and other sub-populations facing health inequalities and impoverished health outcomes.
Lead on service-wide projects/developments as agreed with the Head of Operations.
The post-holder will ensure active service user involvement in the design, delivery, and evaluation of the service.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Professional Qualification in Mental Health, Nursing, Social Work/Occupational Therapy, and/or significant experience of operational leadership
* Leadership/Management Qualification or evidence of demonstrable leadership and management experience
* Leadership Development Programme
* Quality Improvement
Experience
* Proven experience of managing complex services with a track record of successful delivery
* Extensive experience of working in mental health or older adult services, including experience of collaborating with wider system partners, service user groups, and other community providers, including primary care
* Extensive experience of managing a related service and delivering a high-quality service that meets outcomes
* Proven track record of leading an implementation process, including completing complex, multi-faceted implementation plans
* Experience in all aspects of workforce management and recruitment
Skills
* Involvement in project implementation
* Ability to influence and negotiate good outcomes with senior managers from partner agencies, commissioning agencies, and Trust corporate services, where there may be resistance to change.
Knowledge
* Knowledge and understanding of older adults' needs
* Detailed knowledge of clinical interventions and best practices in clinical services
