About the role
A history teacher in a secondary school is responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that help students understand key historical events, concepts, and their relevance to the present day. Responsibilities include:
1. Developing a curriculum that covers various historical periods, encouraging critical thinking and analysis of primary and secondary sources.
2. Assessing student progress through assignments, exams, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
3. Creating a positive classroom environment that fosters curiosity and discussion.
4. Helping students develop skills in research, writing, and argumentation.
5. Ensuring that students appreciate the significance of history in shaping modern society.
Am I suitable?
The successful candidate for the Teacher of History position will have to have:
1. Qualified Teacher Status
2. ECT applications also welcomed
3. Degree or Higher in relevant field
4. At least 1 year teaching experience to Secondary age pupils
5. Unqualified Teacher applications will be considered if the candidate can showcase a vast experience of teaching GCSE and/or A Level science
