My client is looking for a Commercial and Domestic Gas Engineer to utilise and expand their skills. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing heating systems in both domestic and commercial properties, ensuring high standards of safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
1. Installation, maintenance, and repair of gas appliances (boilers, heaters, cookers, etc.) in domestic and commercial settings.
2. Conduct safety inspections and certification of gas appliances in compliance with regulations.
3. Fault finding and diagnostics for both gas and plumbing systems, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
4. Perform plumbing installations and repairs, including pipework, fixtures, and general water systems.
5. Servicing and repairs of central heating systems, radiators, pumps, and associated controls.
6. Emergency response to breakdowns or urgent repairs in both commercial and residential properties.
7. Provide excellent customer service, explaining issues and providing clear recommendations.
8. Ensure all work meets health and safety standards and adheres to industry regulations.
9. Maintain accurate records of all work undertaken, including maintenance logs and certificates.
10. Collaborate with team members and mentor junior engineers, if applicable.
Requirements:
1. Gas Safe registered (essential).
2. Proven experience in both domestic and commercial gas engineering.
3. Strong plumbing background with relevant qualifications.
4. NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing and Heating or equivalent.
5. Valid UK driving license.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
7. Strong knowledge of current gas safety regulations and best practices.
8. Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
9. Willingness to travel to various sites when required.
