Job Role
Working in conjunction with Site Management to safely deliver the throughput of waste in the Transfer Station. Primary role of Inspection chemist to ensure compliance with pre-acceptance criteria, supporting Site Operatives with movement, storage and segregation of waste alongside other general operational responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Processing incoming loads
* Arranging outgoing loads
* Stock control as set out by PPC Permit
* Pre-acceptance and accepting sampling and testing
* Manage all relevant paperwork
* Daily inspections, logs and signage in the Transfer Station
* Liaising with other Chemists and Operatives with waste management
* Ensuring general housekeeping is maintained on a regular basis
* Preparing, loading and unloading incoming and outgoing loads
* Packing and identifying wastes on customers sites
* Adhering to Company Policies and Procedures
* Working with all regulations set out by the HSE, EA and any other regulatory board
* Proactively support and embed a generative safety culture
* Maintaining continuous professional development and competence for the role
* Any other reasonable duties as and when required
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience
* HNC Chemistry (or suitable variant) is essential
* Counterbalance Forklift Truck (Training can be provided)
* Ability to communicate and coordinate with people at all levels of an organisation
* Ability to plan and achieve own workload
* Ability to adapt to using waste software systems

Hours of Work
Monday to Friday, between the hours of 7am - 5pm
Salary
£26k-£26.5k per annum
