Job Description
Supporting the Technical and Maintenance Superintendent, the Mechanical Support Engineer will act as the onshore focal point, responsible for ensuring that all Mechanical related support issues are addressed, and that the appropriate technical support is provided to the operations teams onshore and offshore.
1. Provide Mechanical support which may entail extended offshore visits as and when required.
2. Generate work scopes, detailed cost estimates, and, where necessary, compile maintenance and minor modification work packs for offshore implementation.
3. Provide knowledge/expertise in all aspects of specific types of mechanical equipment, fabricated equipment, and materials handling equipment.
4. Provide operational and specialist Mechanical support to modification or study teams or projects in line with the BAB technical management of change procedure.
5. Assist in setting realistic budgets, manage expenditure for all work scopes within those limits, demonstrating appreciation of commercial and technical risks, managing this appropriately within own work and highlighting any significant issues.
6. Manage Sub-Contractors and suppliers ensuring supporting vendors and suppliers comply with company standards i.e. Safety Management, Quality Management, and Corporate Social Responsibility.
7. Remain up to date with the latest technical developments in your field and expertise.
8. Interface with other relevant disciplines to ensure technical integrity of design is maintained.
9. Support and produce the assigned discipline deliverables within designated time frames.
10. Participate in and contribute to various Safety Reviews related to the projects, i.e. HAZID, HAZOP etc., and close out assigned actions in a timely manner.
11. Review various vendor technical reports as required ensuring any follow up work is actioned.
12. Assist with inspection of equipment and attendance at Factory Acceptance Tests as required.
13. Maintain Mechanical Equipment Specifications, Standards, and Procedures and be the local point of contact for the Mechanical equipment and their application on Kraken.
14. Maintain Mechanical Standards and Procedures and be the local owner of appropriate Mechanical management procedures.
15. Provide input and support long-term facility modification and maintenance plans/programs to ensure cost effective operation and asset integrity throughout the FPSO lifetime.
16. Carry out technical integrity audits on mechanical systems and work management as part of the Technical Audit programme.
17. Meet the corporate targets set for the company.
18. Propel high safety acumen with regards to FPSO facility daily operations.
19. Lead and participate in a proactive safety performance and KPIs and provide appropriate input to the Kraken Process Safety management system.
20. Participate in equipment failure investigations and incident investigations as required.
21. Ensure compliance with the Company’s Safety, Health, Security and Environmental Management Systems for all assets/facilities are met within areas of own responsibility.
22. Ensure that all requirements, deadlines, and support services for FPSO Operations, Construction, Maintenance and Materials are met and carried out by offshore personnel.
23. Ensure a significant focus on safety with regards to the FPSO facility daily operations.
24. Influence and collaborate with the asset leadership teams and all other relevant stakeholders.
25. Perform effectively within a strong peer group and drive forward optimal business solutions.
26. Demonstrate self-motivation, strong personal leadership and drive toward teamwork.
27. Perform any other reasonable tasks as required to support operations commensurate with training, experience and ability.
