This position could be suited for someone at junior level with 1+ years experience up to 10 years. The position can be flexible depending on candidates that crop up.
Required Skills
1. Engineering degree (extensive work experience is to be considered as well)
2. Test boundary condition control and checking
3. Data consistency and repeatability checking
4. Knowledge and hands-on experience of using: ETAS INCA or alternative engine calibration tools and software
5. Experience of managing data
6. Use of suitable functional or analytical tools, MATLAB, Excel and hand calculations as appropriate
7. Good IT literacy skills
Desirable Skills And Experience
1. Engine particulate emissions measurement
2. Combustion analysis
3. AVL Concerto (or similar)
4. Engine gas emissions testing
About The Opportunity
As a Powertrain Test Engineer, you will be conducting engine performance, emissions, development and durability projects for external customers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Delivering of engine and/or powertrain component test programs for external clients
2. Interpreting customer test procedures and requirements
3. Writing tests (i.e. test stages or schedules)
4. Setting up alarm tables and shutdown limits
5. Writing clear and concise test instructions, End of Test reports
6. Daily status reporting, component failure reporting
7. Making sure facilities and test equipment meet customer requirements and are properly maintained and in calibration
8. Continually liaise with the customers and engineers, test technicians to ensure progress and direction are meeting customer satisfaction
