The School of Mathematical Sciences at Lancaster University is looking for an experienced and self-motivated Centre Administrator to join ‘ MARS: Mathematics for AI in Real-world Systems’. As MARS Centre Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting us to achieve our ambitious goals. What you’ll bring to the team We’re looking for an experienced administrator with a proven track record of supporting the delivery of large scale initiatives, and who has the ability to take a proactive approach to running MARS administrative processes. You’ll have excellent organisational skills, be able to strategically prioritise tasks and confidently take ownership of your workload. You’ll also be willing to contribute to creating a positive, inclusive and collaborative research culture. Key elements of the role: Organisation : Experience of coordinating logistics for project meetings and events, and the ability to support staff and student recruitment processes. Effective communication : Ability to work with accuracy and cultural sensitivity, tact and diplomacy across a range of communication types (face-to-face, telephone, electronic and written communications). Relationship management : A track record of maintaining collaborative relationships across a range of activities and the capacity to engage with all MARS stakeholders both academic and non-academic. Financial management : Experience of managing complex budgets and financial processes. This is a full-time, indefinite post and flexible working arrangements will be considered.
