Derbyshire ALC represents the county's Parish Councils, Town Councils and Parish Meetings.
Our aim is to professionally support members through specialist training, expert advice, sharing good practice and by providing a voice for the sector within Derbyshire and beyond.
Role Description
This is a part-time hybrid role for a Deputy Chief Executive Officer at the Derbyshire Association of Local Councils (DALC). This key role will provide support to our member parish and town councils, ensuring they are well placed to face the opportunities and challenges of their unique position in local government. You will be able to deputise for the Chief Executive Officer when required.
You will have an excellent understanding of the importance of good communications and confidence in leading an online presence. Outstanding written and oral skills, the ability to write for different audiences, with an exemplary attention to detail are required. You will have a can-do attitude, offering creative solutions to problems and queries arising.

The role is for 22 hours per week in the salary range SCP 29-32 (£38,626 - £41,511 per annum FTE (pro rata)) depending on experience and qualifications. The position is office based at Cromford Mills, with some homeworking. DALC is a membership organisation, providing advice, support and training to the parish and town councils across Derbyshire.

Qualifications
* GCSEs (A-C) in English and Maths (or equivalent).
* CiLCA (Certificate in Local Council Administration) or FILCA (Financial Introduction to Local Council Administration) – or willingness to achieve within 12 months .
* Educated to Degree Level (or equivalent) in Business Administration, Management, Accountancy, Finance, Marketing, or IT .
