Our client is looking for an experienced Lead Transport Manager to take charge of their fuel distribution network across Scotland. As part of their management team, youll be responsible for overseeing their transport operations and ensuring smooth, safe, and compliant deliveries to their customers. Role Overview: In this position, youll play a hands-on role in managing their transport team, focusing on fleet compliance, operational efficiency, and driver management. Youll lead a team of transport professionals while working closely with other managers to ensure seamless day-to-day operations. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the transport operations, promoting a culture of safety, efficiency, and performance. As the named CPC holder, ensure that all fleet and driver compliance meets both legal and company standards. Collaborate with Depot Managers to manage driver performance, ensuring health and safety protocols are followed, daily vehicle checks are completed, and all vehicles are operated safely and legally. Work with maintenance partners to minimize vehicle downtime and ensure inspections and repairs are completed in a timely manner. Maintain all necessary compliance records, including vehicle inspections, licensing, driver hours, and other required documentation. Support Depot Managers in people management, including scheduling CPC training, handling performance reviews, and managing disciplinary matters. Coordinate with the companys insurance provider to manage fleet-related risks. Develop and implement strategies to improve transport efficiency, reduce costs, and uphold high safety standards. What Were Looking For: A Transport Managers CPC is preferred, but not essential as for the right candidate the client will arrange the training/qualification Strong experience in transport or logistics management. Solid understanding of relevant transport regulations, including compliance and safety standards. Knowledge of legislation around weights, measures, and working hours. Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly at all levels. Ability to analyze operational data and make strategic decisions.
