Data Analyst - Water Asset Management
The RPS Water Consultancy business is currently looking to appoint a Data Analyst. Our Data Analysts work within our team to provide specific data management support on water and/or wastewater projects to drive increased intelligence for internal and/or external benefit, enhance data-driven insights and processes. This will require the ability to increase situational awareness for our clients, building actionable insights to support their strategic objectives.
About The Team:
RPS Water Consulting is a team of Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts providing Asset Management and Operational Strategy development to our Water Industry clients to support business planning and delivery. This industry offers challenges and opportunities that require innovation, dedication, and teamwork.
Our Water Consultancy has a range of prestigious AMP8 programmes leading into AMP9 and beyond, offering long-term career stability and impact.
About You:
As a key member of the Water Consultancy, your role as Data Analyst is critical in delivering projects for our Water Industry clients. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team on various capital delivery projects.
Joining us means engaging in exciting projects, collaborating with leading professionals, and making a meaningful impact on communities across the UK. You will play a crucial role in working with major water companies, ensuring positive and lasting influence.
Your Responsibilities:
* Supporting water and wastewater asset management projects, including Drainage and Wastewater Management Plans, Leakage Analytics, and other technical analyses.
* Supporting senior team members and potentially leading project tasks to assist the Team Leader / Technical Manager.
* Working closely with clients to ensure projects are delivered on time, within quality expectations, and profitably.
* Developing opportunities through client engagement.
* Providing advice and mentorship to less experienced colleagues to support their career development.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
* Knowledge of GIS packages such as ARC GIS, QGIS, MapInfo.
* Experience with large datasets, programming, data manipulation, and visualization.
* Proficiency in programming languages like Python, SQL, FME, and Ruby Script.
* Experience with discipline-specific data analysis tools such as InfoWorks or InfoAsset.
* Understanding of the UK water industry and asset management.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Experience in data management or modeling in a consultancy, water company, or regulator.
* Proficiency in MS 365, advanced Excel, and Visual Basic.
Qualifications:
* Degree in a relevant technical subject; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
* Working towards Chartership or membership of CIWEM, IAM, or similar.
* Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
