Job Title: Testing Team Manager – Electrical/Electronics Location: Loughborough Job Type: Permanent, Full-time About the role: Do you understand the importance of testing products and/or services primarily for safety, efficiency, and fit for purpose? We have an exciting opportunity for a Testing Team Manager to join our Energy testing team at Loughborough, where you will oversee the management and development of BSI’s Electrical & Electronics testing Laboratory and associated resources. Responsibilities: Develop testing methods and procedures to meet requirements from British, European and International standards. Coach, lead and motivate the electrical testing team in their day-to-day operational activities, associated resourcing and administration for the business to ensure accurate and timely forecasts are made and budget revenues and costs are achieved. Develop, monitor and report on KPIs for the business. Drive improvements in performance management to ensure BSI employees have the appropriate skill, knowledge and attitudes to carry out their responsibilities effectively. Ensure teams full compliance across H&S and BSI policies. Manage the provision of equipment and services for the operations and act as an interface into BSI Facilities and Health and Safety on matters which directly affect the laboratory facility. Lead & collaborate with sister locations & teams to deliver best in class service and support to drive growth and new product innovation within sector. To be successful in the role, you will have: Degree or equivalent in an engineering related discipline. Strong people management skills to deal with the range of day-to-day employee issues, as well as coach and facilitate the on-going development of employees. Proven ability to effectively manage the performance of multi-disciplined / technical teams, managing employees and processes to meet expectations. Individual should have experience or appetite for promoting continual improvement and a lean culture. Experience with product certification and testing concepts, principles, and processes including internal auditing, accreditation, and competence. Experience within a similar UKAS accredited, 17025 testing environment would be a major advantage.
