About The Role: As a Primary SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for students with a range of Special Educational Needs. You will develop and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual learning needs of students, ensuring they have the best opportunity to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Working collaboratively with colleagues, including the SENCo, support staff and parents, you will ensure the holistic development of every child under your care. Responsibilities of Primary SEN Teacher: Develop and deliver engaging and bespoke lesson plans for children with SEN, ensuring learning is accessible and effective. Provide individual and small-group support to students, adapting teaching methods to meet their specific needs and learning styles. Foster a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and motivated. Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support assistants and SENCOs to develop and implement effective support strategies. Regularly assess students' progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly to maximise their potential. Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing regular updates on student progress and well-being. The successful candidate will: Must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a focus on SEN (or willingness to undertake further training). Experience in working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is crucial, particularly within a primary school setting. Strong knowledge of SEN strategies, including experience working with a range of conditions such as autism, ADHD and learning disabilities. The ability to differentiate lessons and employ a range of teaching techniques to support students with varying needs. A compassionate, patient and understanding approach to teaching, with a deep commitment to the well-being and progress of every child. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work closely with other professionals to support SEN students. Have an updated CV ( covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one). Why Choose GSL Education?
