Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
A full-time post as Trust Grade Registrar in Cardiology with a subspecialty interest is available now at the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust. The unit provides a service covering all aspects of Cardiology and this post will allow some subspecialisation training - but no access to training in coronary intervention.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will participate in the service's inpatient and outpatient activities. The Registrars operate within a full-shift system with 12 whole-time equivalents. Subspecialty experience will be dependent on the NTN group and availability of opportunities but may include:
1. Transthoracic, stress and transoesophageal echo
2. Heart Failure ward rounds and inpatient care
3. In-house and outreach specialist outpatient clinics
4. MDT meetings (genetics, cardiomyopathy, TAVI etc)
5. EP studies
6. Cardiac CT lists
We endeavour to ensure our trust grade registrars do receive training and experience beyond service provision in an area that will enhance their CV and career development, and facilitate applications for NTN positions.
About us
Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. It provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education, training and research. Find out more here www.ouh.nhs.uk.
The Trust comprises four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton General Hospital in Banbury.
Our values, standards and behaviours define the quality of clinical care we offer and the professional relationships we make with our patients, colleagues and the wider community. We call this Delivering Compassionate Excellence and its focus is on our values of compassion, respect, learning, delivery, improvement and excellence. These values put patients at the heart of what we do and underpin the quality healthcare we would like for ourselves or a member of our family. Watch how we set out to deliver compassionate excellence via the OUH YouTube channel.
COVID-19: The COVID-19 vaccination remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course our patients from the virus when working in our healthcare settings. Whilst COVID-19 vaccination is not a condition of employment, we do encourage our staff to get vaccinated. If you are unvaccinated there is helpful advice and information at Oxfordshire County Council Website where you can also find out more about how to access vaccination.
