Join our clients dynamic Health Visiting Service as a Health Visitor, where you will play a crucial role in delivering the Healthy Child Programme. Using the 4/5/6 model, you will work with and empower individuals, families, and communities to achieve the best physical, social, and emotional health and wellbeing outcomes for children and their families. Your role will involve promoting and participating in public health initiatives within the local community.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Identify, assess, monitor, and support children in need, including those at risk, in accordance with Child Protection policies and procedures.
2. Provide the Healthy Child Programme to a defined caseload of families, assessing needs, planning, and implementing appropriate interventions.
3. Work in partnership with families and communities, offering advice and acting as a key referral agent.
4. Meet productivity targets/KPIs for the Healthy Child Programme, especially in relation to the commissioned service specification.
5. Identify and refer children requiring secondary assessment and ensure vulnerable families are appropriately seen and assessed.
6. Teach and mentor pre-registration nursing students, support training SCPHN students, and mentor newly qualified practitioners.
7. Provide day-to-day management and supervision for nursery nurses.

Education, Training, and Qualifications:
1. Registered Nurse, Children’s Nurse, Midwife, or Mental Health Nurse with current NMC registration.
2. Educated to degree or Master’s level.
3. Specialist Community Public Health Nursing qualification (Health Visiting).
Experience:
1. Clinical practice based on sound evidence and audit.
2. Quality improvement processes.
3. Specialist knowledge in child development, perinatal mental health, and child protection (desirable).
Knowledge:
1. Key developments in children’s services.
2. Requirements of CQC.
3. Clinical governance principles and processes, including risk management and audit.
4. Key professional nursing issues and strategy documents.
