TEACHING ASSISTANT LEVEL 1 SEN
Band 3 Point 6 - 11 £25,183 to £27,269 (full time equivalent)
Full Time 36.25 hrs per week 39 Week Contract (Term Time & 5 Training Days)
Contracted hours 8.30 4:15
Fixed Term contract Initially until 31st July 2026 (but could be increased depending on funding)

We wish to appoint an outstanding Teaching Assistant, who will work with pupils in our EYFS department who have differing SEN needs. The role will involve supporting children to access the environment and activities within the class, working with children on a one-to-one basis, as well as working with small groups of children.
Applicants will need to demonstrate a proven understanding of children who need particular support in different aspects of SEN needs. You will also need experience of working in Early Year (both Nursery and Reception) and it is essential that you have experience of working with SEN needs.
We are looking for someone who:
1. Is a skilled early years practitioner with experience of working with children aged 3 to 7 years in a school setting
2. Has working knowledge of the EYFS
3. Is motivated and passionate about supporting young children with special educational needs and disabilities
4. Has wide experience of working with children with a range of SEND as well as experience of working with professionals from multi-agency parties
5. Has experience of implementing Speech and Language Programmes and Individual Education Plans
6. Has experience of providing support through one to one work and the delivery of small group interventions
7. Able to cater for the needs of the children and use initiative based upon situations as they arise
8. Uses a relational, trauma informed approach
9. Contributes to planning, monitoring and evaluating pupil outcomes and targets
10. Has an enthusiastic and adaptable approach with high expectations of learning and behaviour, with a passion for helping children achieve their full potential
11. Is positive, nurturing and caring
12. Is hardworking and a good team player, who can work on their own initiative when required
13. Is energetic and willing to engage in all aspects of school life to achieve the best for the children within the school
14. Is flexible and willing to try out new initiatives
