Are you an experienced support worker with a strong background in supporting young people with extremely challenging behaviour? We are looking for highly skilled and resilient Support Workers to provide specialist care and support to a young person with complex mental health needs in their own home. Role Overview: This role requires individuals with significant experience in supporting young people with challenging behaviours and emotional dysregulation. You will be responsible for delivering person-centred support, ensuring their safety, and following a Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) plan to promote stability and quality of life. Key Responsibilities: Providing consistent and structured support to manage extremely challenging behaviours Assisting with daily living tasks, personal care, and emotional well-being Supporting access to education, activities, and the wider community Implementing Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) strategies to reduce behaviours of concern Managing crisis situations and de-escalating behaviours safely Administering and monitoring medication in line with care plans Working within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for the young person Essential Requirements: Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with young people who display extremely challenging behaviours Experience in implementing Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) plans Valid PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression) certificate (essential) Strong ability to manage high-risk behaviours in a calm and professional manner A resilient, patient, and compassionate approach to care Experience working within a home setting or residential care environment
