Production Planner - Manufacturing - Truro - 4 day week
Are you a problem-solving planner who thrives on keeping production schedules running smoothly? Ready to make a real impact in a team that values precision and efficiency? Looking for a role where your planning expertise can drive success in a dynamic environment?
We’re looking for a Production Planner to join a forward-thinking team where your skills in production planning will play a crucial role in meeting operational goals. If you’re detail-driven, proactive, and ready to get stuck in, this could be the perfect next step in your career.
What’s the Opportunity?
As a Production Planner, you’ll be the linchpin of our operational team, ensuring production schedules are met, inventory is managed, and everything runs like clockwork. You’ll use MRP systems to raise production orders and keep things on track—whether it’s delivering stock replenishments, spare parts, or ensuring we hit deadlines. You’ll be the key communicator between departments, keeping production running smoothly and problem-solving any delays before they become bigger issues.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Raising production orders through MRP systems to meet demand for production schedules, spare parts, and stock replenishments.
2. Making sure orders are released to production teams on time, so everything stays on schedule.
3. Setting and maintaining batch sizes and minimum stock levels to boost efficiency.
4. Keeping job cards and work-centre information up to date, ensuring production runs are smooth.
5. Communicating schedules and priorities clearly to the production team, and resolving any disruptions swiftly.
6. Monitoring inventory to reduce excess stock and manage carrying costs.
7. Working with buyers to ensure materials are available to meet production plans.
8. Progress chasing parts that are running late and keeping everyone updated on progress.
Who We’re Looking For:
1. Proven experience as a Production Planner, with strong skills in MRP/MPS systems.
2. Excellent communication skills—you’ll need to keep everyone in the loop, from the shop floor to the office.
3. A sharp eye for detail and a knack for organising production schedules.
4. Strong IT skills, including experience with MS Office and ERP systems.
5. A proactive approach—you’re someone who spots problems before they become issues and works well under pressure.
Why This Role?
If you’re looking for a role where you can really take ownership and ensure production stays efficient, this is the role for you. You’ll be joining a supportive, driven team, where your contribution makes a difference every day.
What’s In It for You?
Competitive salary based on experience. A chance to work in a collaborative team environment that values input and innovation. Opportunities for growth and development in a fast-paced setting.
Ready to Apply?
If you’re ready to bring your production planning skills to a team that values efficiency and collaboration, we want to hear from you.
