About the Role
There are 3 part-time roles available with the following shift patterns:
1. Shift Pattern 1 (30 hours/week):
Monday 12:30 – 18:30
Tuesday 12:30 – 18:30
Wednesday 8:00 – 14:00
Thursday 8:00 – 14:00
Friday 12:30 – 18:30
2. Shift Pattern 2 (26 hours/week):
Monday 8:00 – 13:30
Wednesday 8:00 – 13:30
Thursday 8:00 – 13:30
Friday 8:00 – 18:30 (includes 1 hour unpaid lunch break)
3. Shift Pattern 3 (36 hours/week):
Monday 8:00 – 18:30 (includes 1 hour unpaid lunch break)
Tuesday 8:00 – 13:00
Wednesday 12:30 – 18:30
Thursday 12:30 – 18:30
Friday 8:00 – 18:30 (includes 1 hour unpaid lunch break)
Responsibilities
* Answering the telephone.
* Managing online triage requests.
* Dealing with patient enquiries at the surgery.
* Booking and cancelling appointments.
* Checking in patients arriving for appointments.
* Handling non-clinical enquiries regarding prescriptions.
* Recording home visit requests.
* Maintaining waiting areas and clinicians’ rooms.
* Filing notes, correspondence, and results.
* Receiving results via telephone from hospitals.
* Calling patients with results or scans at the doctor’s request.
* Making necessary phone calls to patients.
* Attending staff practice meetings.
* Chaperoning patients when needed.
* Using SystmOne to send tasks, access records, and communicate.
Candidate Requirements
You should be a team player with excellent communication and telephone skills, able to work under pressure. The ideal candidate will have:
* Strong interpersonal and prioritisation skills.
* Commitment to quality service and continuous improvement.
* Ability to plan ahead and adapt to changes.
* Effective engagement with stakeholders and ability to provide advice and support.
* Experience with General Practice and SystmOne is preferable.
