Operations Lead — ***Dynamic Personal Care & Household Products Organisation***
Location: Based in St Albans with on-site working required
Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 + Bonus, Pension, Healthcare, Life Insurance, Holiday.
Our client is seeking a driven and experienced Operations Lead to manage and optimize the activities of their mixing team within a high-growth production environment. This pivotal leadership role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on production processes, team performance, and operational efficiency. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will oversee a team of three mixing associates, ensuring production demands are met while driving organization, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Operational Leadership: Supervise and mentor the mixing team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
* Planning & Forecasting: Manage ingredient inventory, ensure availability to meet production schedules, and coordinate with supply chain teams to prevent delays.
* Quality Assurance: Maintain adherence to regulatory and company quality standards, conduct inspections, and collaborate with QA teams on corrective actions.
* Collaboration: Act as a key liaison with production, procurement, and quality assurance teams to ensure alignment on goals and plans.
* Process Improvement: Evaluate and enhance mixing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and introduce innovative practices.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
Position Requirements:
* Proven production/manufacturing experience in a chemical, personal care, household, or complex ingredients manufacturing environment, ideally in a leadership role.
* Strong understanding of material handling, inventory management, and production planning.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop staff.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with stock management systems.
