Qualifications and Training
Essential Criteria
1. Degree in Accounting/Finance related field or equivalent level of experience
2. Part CCAB Qualified and actively studying to complete qualification
Experience
Essential Criteria
1. Experience of working in a finance field in a large and complex organisation
2. Experience with using different accounting software
3. Experience in preparing and analysing financial reports, budgets and forecasts
Desirable Criteria
1. Staff Management experience
2. Experience of working with and advising senior leaders
3. Experience of liaising and working with Commissioners / NHSE
Knowledge and Skills
Essential Criteria
1. Highly numerate with strong analytical and critical reasoning skills and with the ability to think strategically and to think through complex challenges
2. Good understanding of the principles of budgetary control and reporting
3. Attention to detail in ensuring financial reports and compliance information meet regulations
4. Effective and strong financial management and financial planning skills
5. Negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to problem solve and present solutions
6. Ability to deal confidently and diplomatically with colleagues at all levels
7. Ability to explain complex information to non-specialists
8. Ability to work as part of a team and under own initiative
9. Ability to manage multiple deadlines at the same time and respond quickly to changing schedules
Desirable Criteria
1. Knowledge of current key NHSE policies and priorities and their impact on role/Trust
2. A clear understanding of the financial regime within the NHS and be able to articulate them to non-financial colleagues.
