ROLE SUMMARY
We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Technician to join our Global Operations team based in Dunfermline, Fife.
This is a technical role assembling and fault-finding of highly complicated systems that require knowledge of mechanics, electronic, optical engineering, and software (specifically Linux).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assembling materials in kit form whilst stringently adhering to working procedures.
2. Aligning complicated optical systems.
3. Fault finding of scan heads.
4. Ensuring capacity and quality levels are maintained.
5. Maintenance and upkeep of area ensuring cleanliness and functionality at all times.
6. Effective use of jigs and fixtures.
7. Working as part of a team to help achieve targets.
8. Completion of Microsoft Word and Excel based route cards.
9. Potentially working in stores area packing, unpacking product.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
10. HNC or above (or equivalent) or equivalent education gained through work experience.
11. Previous experience in an optical/scientific instrumentation environment preferred.
12. Strong understanding of manufacturing.
13. An ability to work within tight deadlines and manage time effectively.
14. Team oriented - strong interpersonal and communication skills.
15. Ability to accurately follow instructions.
16. PC literate – specifically Microsoft Word and Excel.
17. Be physically capable as described in the ‘Additional Job Demands’ below.
