Amey is looking for a motivated and experienced Lead Senior Bridge Engineer to work on a range of exciting consulting projects in Scotland and further afield. We have design hubs in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Motherwell, Perth, and Aberdeen together with additional office space in Dumfries, Ayr, Dundee, Nairn and Huntly.
Amey deliver a range of local, national and international infrastructure projects for clients including Transport Scotland, Network Rail, National Highways, Local Authorities and Contractors. We have secured multiple long-term contracts and continue to grow and expand into new regions and markets.

Key responsibilities:
The successful candidate will:
* Be part of an experienced bridge engineering team, working on some of the most interesting infrastructure projects in Scotland and further afield.
* Assist with development of practical, sustainable solutions for bridges and civil structures at all stages; from investigation to optioneering, feasibility, concept and detailed design, construction supervision and asset management.
* Undertake and / or review structural analysis, design and assessment calculations.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of our world-class data, analytics and digital technology solutions.
* Manage production of carbon and cost estimates, 3D models, drawings, reports and other technical documents.
* Support the development of junior staff and technical capabilities in the team.
* Represent the structures practice in multi-disciplinary projects and meetings with clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications and required skills
* Bachelors / Masters degree or PhD in Civil / Structural Engineering
* Chartered status (or working towards it) with ICE, IStructE or other appropriate professional body
* Demonstrable experience in the assessment, design and / or management of bridges
* Excellent understanding of structural behaviour and analysis
* Knowledge of relevant codes and standards such as DMRB and / or Eurocodes
* Enjoys working in a team environment; sharing ideas and collaborating with colleagues.
* Proactive approach and commitment to health, safety and welfare.
Desirable
* Experience with highway structures and major bridges
* Experience in FE analysis using Lusas, Atena or Midas software
