Senior Software Engineer (Embedded Display Systems)

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our client’s product development team in Staffordshire. The team is involved with the design and development of user interface/display systems for use in vehicles. The display systems may incorporate interfaces to camera systems, infotainment, USB connections, and more.
As senior or principal engineer, you will be involved with:
1. Development of application-layer software for embedded display systems using C++.
2. Technically leading a small team of engineers, providing technical direction and support.
3. Creation and implementation of robust software development processes to ensure high-quality delivery (i.e., similar to automotive practices).
4. Mentoring and supporting of junior engineers, fostering their growth and development.
Key Skills and Experience:
1. Proven experience in C++ programming, with a strong understanding of object-oriented principles.
2. Proficiency in Qt for developing intuitive and high-performance interfaces (e.g., touchscreens, automotive infotainment systems, medical devices, or industrial control systems).
3. Familiarity with embedded software engineering (preferred but not essential).
4. A degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead a team effectively.
6. Experience of CANbus would be useful, as would automotive development processes, Linux, or QML.
