CTO covers a diverse range of responsibilities across the span of anti-phishing, brand abuse management, cyber threat intelligence, data science, and threat hunting. Job descriptionWe are seeking an SO Cyber Threat Intelligence Manager, reporting to the G7 Cyber Threat Intelligence Lead. The successful candidate will join two existing Cyber Threat Intelligence Managers.As a Cyber Threat Intelligence Manager, on a day to day basis you will identify, analyse, and report on cyber threats or vulnerabilities that could impact the department. You will conduct research to create various intelligence products, such as a daily threat report distributed to hundreds of HMRC staff. Amongst other duties, you will also contribute to monitoring our MISP Threat Intelligence Platform for effective threat feed ingestion, and represent CSD CTI capabilities at cross-government forums.If you are someone who has an investigative mindset, is curious and keen to learn, and is ready to tackle new challenges, we would love to hear from you!Person specificationIn this role you willScope and understand the current and future threat landscape for HMRC, its people, and platforms; Deliver accurate, timely and professionally produced intelligence outputs that are reflective of tactical, operational, and strategic considerations; Conduct analysis and assessment on threat intelligence emanating from multiple sources; Liaise closely with colleagues across other CTO functions to inform threat-focused outputs and joint-working efforts; Support efforts to drive towards increased automation and adoption of AI-enabled capabilities where appropriate; Forge relationships with other teams in CSD, HMRC Security, and beyond, to further the goals of CTO in protecting HMRC Essential Criteria: Experience drawing upon intelligence gathered from multiple sources to create professional products; Experience carrying out investigations or employing analytical approaches, using technical data or other forms of intelligence; Advanced research skills, particularly in relation to open source; Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) across a range of outputs, from longform through to presentations; Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously;Experience building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and partner teams Desirable Criteria: Experience working in an intelligence or law enforcement environment in a cyber-specific role or remit Familiarity with intelligence tools and platforms like Cyjax, Flashpoint, Silobreaker etc Familiarity with cyber threat intelligence models and frameworks like the Diamond Model, MITRE ATT&CK etc Familiarity with SIEM or SOAR tooling like Splunk, Sentinel etc. Other Information:An additional Labour Market Supplement of £10,000 is payable with this post if the qualifying criteria is met.
