Job Summary
Due to retirement, a highly specialist podiatry post has become available within the North East Essex Community Podiatry service.
This role is part of the integrated podiatry service, which provides care for all ages and a variety of pathologies, including nail surgery, wound care, biomechanics, foot protection service, and MDT foot clinic for diabetic patients. The service covers North East Essex and the post holder will be expected to cover Clacton, Colchester, Harwich, and home visits.
Car driver and access to a car for work is essential.
Main Duties of the Job
You will be required to participate in the full breadth of the service, but have a specialist interest focus on management of complex patients with vascular issues and non-diabetic wounds. It is expected that this post will develop to become a non-medical prescriber, but this can be developed whilst in the service.
The service has committed to supporting the workforce of the future, and as such, you will support the development of staff across a range of points in their career, from assistant staff working towards the RCoP qualifications to apprentice podiatrists (pre-reg) and post-registration staff through preceptorship and into expert practice.

Experience Essential:
* Proven experience working with relevant care group
* Advanced competencies relevant to care group
* Experience of managing complex and/or highly specialist cases
Qualifications Essential:
* Registered Podiatrist recorded on HCPC register with POM-A annotation
* Professional knowledge and skills underpinned by theory and experience, acquired through degree supplemented by specialist training, experience in specialist field, to masters level or equivalent
Knowledge Essential:
* Advanced knowledge of a broad range of assessments and treatment techniques including specialist relevant to the specialist care group and the relative benefits of each.
* Awareness of national guidance relevant to own specialties, including consent issues, and other legal frameworks relating to care group
* Understanding of the roles of other professionals.
* Knowledge of standards of record keeping.
* Excellent knowledge of the current evidence-based practice
