Health Care Support Worker - Theatres and Endoscopy Services
Our Endoscopy Unit based at Prince Philip Hospital is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic, forward-thinking Health Care Support Worker to join our Endoscopy team.
The post is part-time, 22.5 hours per week.
The Endoscopy unit has a friendly supportive environment, which is strongly focused on teamwork and patient care. It provides diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy services for both inpatients and outpatients. We are currently running 5 days a week. It has two procedure rooms and is continuing to undergo further development to achieve JAG accreditation.
Main Duties of the Job
Responsible for assisting in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in Gastroenterology, Respiratory, and Urology along with administration duties to ensure the smooth running of the lists.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Knowledge
* Previous experience in the NHS inclusive of healthcare activities and experience in decontamination in endoscopy and theatre environment.
* Clear understanding of patient and goods transport.
* NHS experience in theatre and Endoscopy field.
* Recognised decontamination certificates.
Experience
* Qualification Credit Framework - QCF Diploma Level 3 (formally NVQ Level 3 (Health) -OR- equivalent experience and be prepared to work towards achieving the QCF Diploma.
* Level 3 in Health within one year of appointment -OR- ILM Level 3 -OR- Equivalent qualification such as E-learning modules.
* Decontamination training and certificated training.
* Maintain their personal development.
* Recognises need for lifelong learning.
Language Skills
* Welsh Speaker (Level 1).

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
£24,433 to £26,060 a year per annum pro rata.
