The Team
Broadfield UK has offices in Southampton, the City of London, Reading, and Cambridge. The Corporate and Commercial department consists of approximately 40 people across the firm. Based day-to-day in Southampton, there are two Partners, one Legal Director, one Associate, one Assistant Solicitor, one Legal Apprentice, and a Trainee Solicitor. The Southampton team is a leading, high-profile team in the region undertaking corporate, M&A, private equity, cross-border, and commercial work. The ethos of the team is to develop and help ambitious candidates of high potential grow.
The Opportunity
The successful candidate can look forward to having a high level of responsibility and excellent experience. This position would suit an energetic and enthusiastic graduate undertaking their first role in a law firm and/or someone who has worked in a law firm but is looking for a position within a successful corporate team.
Duties would include:
* Working with a number of people across the team/firm, both in the Southampton team and the wider Corporate and Commercial team.
* Maintaining and reviewing electronic data rooms and general involvement with due diligence exercises.
* Dealing with and responding to client queries.
* Assembling key company information and data.
* Assisting with minutes, resolutions, Companies House forms, and other company law documentation.
* Providing support to Commercial legal practitioners.
* General administrative tasks such as electronic filing (profiling), scanning, archiving, and amending documents.
* File management (file opening, closing, matter balance clearance, scheduling).
* Assisting the business development initiatives.
* Maintaining client databases and entering new client and contact information.
* Assisting with billing.
* Assisting with disclosure processes.
* Drafting and reviewing ancillary documents and NDAs.
* Proofreading documents.
* Conducting legal research.
* Assisting with company registry filings.
* Collating and organizing completions.
* KYC and engagement terms.
